Asst. Principal

I am a proud product of the Christian County Public School System!  I attended Millbrooke Elementary, Attucks Middle School, Christian Co. Middle School, and graduated from Christian Co. High School in 1985.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in English Education from Austin Peay State University in 1989.  I received my Masters in Middle School Education from Murray State University (1994), as well as my Masters in Administration, Instructional Supervision, and Director of Pupil Personnel in 2004.  I also have an endorsement in Gifted Education from Western Kentucky University.

I am married and have two sons.  The oldest graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in electrical engineering; the other is a senior at the University of Louisville studying industrial engineering.  To say I am proud of them is an understatement.

I began my teaching career at Christian Co. Middle School where I taught 6th - 8th grade language arts.  I transferred to Christian Co. High School in the middle of the 94-95 school year and worked there until June of 2015 when I became the Assistant Principal at Gateway Academy to Innovation & Technology.  While at CCHS, I taught English in 9th - 12th grades, taught geography, and served as the yearbook sponsor and newspaper sponsor for many years.  I also worked as a curriculum specialist and as an assistant principal.

I am a sports fanatic!  I played on the first softball team in the history of CCHS and returned to be the first assistant coach beginning in 1990.  I stopped coaching in 1997 and became the Assistant Athletic Director at CCHS which allowed me to attend pretty much every sporting event that took place at CCHS, and I absolutely loved it!  As an assistant coach I was fortunate to be a part of four KHSAA state championships (1990, 91, 94, and 96).

Currently as Assistant Principal at Gateway, I am privileged to work with amazing teachers and students.  I am responsible for the scheduling of students to insure that they are in the correct courses to give them the best opportunity to be career ready.  I also work with the core content teachers to help them as they work to prepare our students for end of course assessments as well as the numerous projects and presentations that students do here.

I am honored to be part of the Gateway Staff and look forward to working with parents, students, and teachers for many years to come.
