Students and Parents,

This page will assist you with knowing what to do during a non-traditional instruction/snowSMART day.

What is a non-traditional instructional day or snowSMART day?

This is another term for a "snow day" in which students must work/complete assignments from home.  However, we do have snow days built into our district calendar.  We also have time for make-up days that we will add to the school year before using the snowSMART day.  Therefore, this day will be used in an emergency situation only, and you will be notified if and when the district intends to use. it.

What lesson(s) will my student need to complete on a snowSMART day?

If your student is enrolled in culinary, electricity, industrial maintenance, welding, biomedical science, automotive, marketing, information technology (video game design or help desk), or law enforcement, he or she will complete one assignment per snowSMART day.  You will be able to access all of these assignments from your teacher's website.

If your student is enrolled in the health science academy or the engineering academy, he or she will complete three assignments per snowSMART day.  You will also be able to access all of these assignments from your teachers' websites.

How will we correspond with the teacher(s) if we have questions?

Teachers will be available to students and parents during snowSMART days.  E-mail can be used to communicate back and forth.  Many of our teachers have set up Remind accounts for their classes which can also be used.  Parents can access a link to each teacher's e-mail from that teacher's website.

What if we do not have internet access?

If you do not have internet access, we will prepare a snowSMART folder for your son or daughter that will have a print version of the assignments or comparable assignments.

Where are the assignments located?

Please see your teacher's website to access the snowSMART assignment.
