On October 16, 2018, Dr. Wayne Lewis, Kentucky Commissioner of Education, visited Gateway Academy along with State Representative Walker Thomas and State Senator Whitney Westerfield. In addition to a tour of all of the Gateway Academy programs, program highlights were shared with the visitors. Watch this video.

- Scholars attended financial literacy, resume writing, mock interviewing, positive social media, and career exploration workshops
- Christian Co Public Schools has in-king match of $230,000 for the WIOA program
- 12 different professional businesses mentor, host, and partner with WIOA scholars. (Co-op businesses not included)
