Scholars competed at the SkillsUSA State Conference, April 10, 2019 through April 12, 2019 with awards announced on Saturday, April 13, 2019. This group of scholars brought home the most awards by a Christian County Delegation. Many thanks to the hard work and dedication of advisors Sean Conley, Ricky Peterson, Betty Adams, and Nathan Hicks. Mr. Conley was named the Kentucky State Advisor of the Year and the Gateway Academy Chapter was awarded the State Chapter of Excellence.
Scholars brought home 10 1st place finishes, 7 2nd place finishes, and 8 3rd place finishes. They were also awarded $128,000 in scholarships to Sullivan University for various culinary and robotics events. To see pictures of the winners, click the link at the bottom of the listing of awards.
